REIKI
REIKI means Universal Life Force Energy; it is a Japanese technique that is useful in many ways, and for many different areas of life. We all have life force, which is called Qi (Chi). We also have auras~ electromagnetic fields that surround our bodies. So, beyond the physical form, there are ethereal forms of energy that extend in all directions.
Mikao Usui is the founder of Reiki. He was born August 16, 1865, and he passed away March 9 (my birthday), in 1926.
There is no coincidence that I share the same birth and homegoing day with this Master whose healing technique I have grown to witness.
Reiki can be offered in person or distance. Since Reiki assists in the healing process, and is quite simply, divine energy with the highest intention, a practitioner can send Reiki not only to a person in their presence, but to situations (past, present and future), items, food, etc. The energy is free flowing and intelligent, which means it knows where to go and why it is needed.
Whether you would like to work through something longterm, short-term, physical, emotional or energetic, Reiki can help. Its approach is so gentle, that after the first time, you will be eager to try it again! Think of a A Reiki session like a spa session for your energetic field!

For many reasons, healthy, free flowing energy often becomes blocked, or something stressful in our lives might manifest in the physical form, causing sickness in the body or stagnation in the energetic field.
Reiki practitioners channel Reiki energy, and direct that energy from their palms and into the client's body. Intuitively, we can feel heat and blockages, and we can also feel where one is healthy in the body, just by holding our hands over the client's body. One way the body communicates to us is through Chakras. If a chakra feels warm, that often means there is a physical or energetic need to balance aspects of one's life that correspond to that chakra. Reiki is another way to help balance the body's Chakra system.
The link below describes how emotions manifest in the physical form on the body. Reiki absolutely assists the body with how the emotions are processed and released to prevent or eliminate longterm physical blockage. When Reiki is running through the body, it feels peaceful, relaxing, and creates a sense of comfort and grounding. Following a Reiki session, one might become very sleepy, or might even fall asleep during the session, which is great! The body needs its rest and the subconscious mind needs its time to process.

Karuna
Karuna ("compassion"): universal sympathy. In Buddhist yoga the complement of wisdom (prajna). In Buddhist literature it is stated that Karuna must be accompanied by prajna or wisdom in order to have the right effect.
Karuna Reiki is an outgrowth of Usui/Tibetan Reiki which has been developed by William Lee Rand - Reiki Master. It is taught to those at the Reiki Master level in two levels. It is considered to be a higher level of energy than Traditional Usui Reiki. William Rand, as well as many other Reiki Masters who took the Karuna Training are saying that it strengthens their healing energy, allowing it to work more deeply and produce beneficial results much more quickly.
There are many additional symbols and procedures which are used in this system. There are eight healing symbols and four master symbols. Each of them has it's own purpose and vibration. The symbols were channeled by several other Reiki masters, but William Rand used them and found them to have a great value.
It is said that he meditated on them and was guided to develop the attunement process and to call the new system Karuna Reiki*. Some of the symbols which are used in Karuna Reiki* are used in other systems. However, they don't have the same healing energy tapped/connected to them as in Karuna system.

Quan Yin~ Goddess of grace and compassion
Karuna Reiki guide~
Karuna is a Sanskrit word that means compassionate action and this is not an ordinary kind of compassion, but one that comes from an unbounded sea of love. This is the kind of compassion that when combined with wisdom can take one to enlightenment. And once enlightened, all those who have followed this path are compelled by the great love that has grown in their hearts to turn their attention toward reducing suffering and helping others to become enlightened also. The beings who have followed this path and reside in this unbounded sea of love have unlimited power and at the same time unlimited kindness. They have mastered Karuna and because of this are its emissaries. They act like beacons sending unlimited healing potential into every part of the Universe.
Kuan Yin is one such being. She is one of four great Bodhisattvas or enlightened beings that watch over the earth. She is also called Avalokiteshvara and in Japan she is called Kannon. The embodiment of Mahakaruna, or great compassion, she is highly venerated in Buddhism and is ready to help all those who pray to her or attune to her healing energies, which continually emanate from her. While she has been depicted as male, in more recent times and especially by Taoist and Tantric sources she has been seen as female. In this form she represents the Goddess or female aspect of the deity. Portrayed as standing on a lotus blossom and floating in the sky, her purity remains unstained by the ignorance and confusion of the world, even as she reaches out to help. Filled with the greatest beauty and grace, her reality is that all beings are one and deserve to be free. Because of this she is ready without reservation to extend peace, joy, love and every divinely good thing to anyone who contacts to her.
